As proven in previous work where he unearths archival footage in partial or total decay and breathes new life into it, Bill Morrison perceives celluloid as a mysterious entity that has the ability to transform itself and, most importantly, fight against non-existence and the corrosion of time. Exploring uncharted territory in people’s subconscious, his creations take on the dimensions of a dream-like spectacle that triggers emotions and associations that are hard to put into words.
