Love Eternal

A macabre love story with an unexpectedly human twist, ?Love Eternal’s? otherworldly atmosphere proves that love and death are only a hair’s breadth away.

Ian has always been obsessed with death, since he was a small child. At a very young age, he saw his father take his last breath and discovered the body of a school friend hanging from a tree.

At 26, he lives in a secluded, yet luxurious mansion in the countryside and seems irrevocably lost in the virtual world of the internet, where he likes to spend his time on suicide forums, freely dispensing advices on how best to kill yourself. Until one day, love wreaks havoc in his head, upsetting the balance between the dead and the living once and for all.

A macabre love story with an unexpectedly human twist, “Love Eternal’s” otherworldly atmosphere proves that love and death are only a hair’s breadth away. With his second feature, Irish filmmaker Brendan Muldowney adapts Kei Ôishi’s novel “In Love With the Dead” as a tragicomic melodrama about the infinitesimal distance between pleasure and pain in the twisted universe of a disoriented young man.
