Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?

Arvin Chen’s second feature after ?Au Revoir Taipei?, deals with our innermost fears and desires, adding surreal touches on the main character’s magic realist journey, where the scariest monster he has to defeat is none other than himself.

For nine years, Weichung has been a model husband, a great dad and the perfect assistant to his boss. But when his wife puts on the pressure to have a second child, he seems to reassess his sexual orientation after a chance encounter with a friend from his gay past, and starts flirting with a customer, until the dividing line gets a little too blurry. Meanwhile, his sister splits up with her fiancé, wondering whether she “will still love him tomorrow”.

Arvin Chen’s second feature after “Au Revoir Taipei”, deals with our innermost fears and desires, adding surreal touches on the main character’s magic realist journey, where the scariest monster he has to defeat is none other than himself. His low key story, affectionate, deeply human, melancholy and at the same time optimistic, is sure to tug at your heartstrings. Ch.L.
