Oscar-winning “A Separation”, Asghar Farhadi’s European debut manages to sweep audiences off their feet with its emotional force and political agenda. Ahmad (the brilliant Ali Mosaffa, first seen in Farhadi’s previous triumph) returns to France from Iran to sign the divorce papers his wife Marie (“The Artist’s” Bérénice Bejo) has filed.

His arrival at his former home, where Marie now lives with her new companion, will trigger a chain of reactions that reveal hidden secrets. Ecumenical Jury Prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Ph.V.
