The Tree and the Swing

On a first level ?The Tree and the Swing? is a story of a family reunion based on real-life events, but on a deeper level, it is inspired by the waves of immigration in the Balkans, weaving contemporary reality and recent history into the fabric of a modern myth about the never-ending population relocations, penance, acceptance and love.

Eleni (Myrto Alikaki), a London-based cardiology professor, has been estranged from her father (Elias Logothetis) for over fifteen years now, ever since relocating to England. An unexpected development puts a strain on her marriage and Eleni decides to use the Easter holidays as a pretext to return to her homeland. Upon arrival, she finds her father living with a Serbian woman, who now runs his estate.
