In his feature debut, which screened in competition at the San Sebastian Film Festival, Michalis Konstantatos focuses on the repercussions of the psychological pressure and mental abuse our everyday lives subjects us to.

Jimmy is a wealthy high-school student. Mary is a trainee lawyer in her 30s. Makis is a 50-year-old family man and the owner of a mini-market. Three very different people with very different lives. During the course of their nondescript lives, when everything seems predictable and stagnant, these three people will find their own way out.

In his feature debut, which screened in competition at the San Sebastian Film Festival, Michalis Konstantatos focuses on the repercussions of the psychological pressure and mental abuse our everyday lives subjects us to.

As the pressure grows, it can lead to all sorts of twisted and pathological behaviors, culminating in an almost predictable crescendo of violence. Each of the three characters is another link in a cause and effect chain that could easily be encountered in any society in the Western world.

    All is Lost

    All is Lost

Can a film with a cast of one, very little dialogue and the endless blue sea as its sole location keep you nailed to your seat for one hour and 45 minutes? The answer is yes, if it's directed by J.C. Chandor.
