In 1913 Coco Chanel’s prospects were finally looking up. After finally getting a new store, she set about quietly revolutionizing women’s fashion. At the same time, Igor Stravinsky was preparing for his own radical breakthrough - the premiere of The Rite of Spring, a piece that was to change music for ever. The premiere was a fiasco, but Chanel, who had attended the performance in a chic white dress was enthralled. Seven years later, Chanel, now rich, famous and devastated by her lover's death, meets the destitute and exiled Stravinsky through Diaghilev and invites him and his family for an extended stay at her Garches villa.
