Electra - Work in Progress

Electra is a young girl who feels like a stranger in her own country, same as everywhere else. The film she lends her symbolic name to is a puzzle, whose pieces make up her broken identity, from Africa all the way to Europe.

Electra is a young girl who feels like a stranger in her own country, same as everywhere else. The film she lends her symbolic name to is a puzzle, whose pieces make up her broken identity, from Africa all the way to Europe.

The story of this modern-day Electra doesn't follow a straight chronological line, choosing to explore the girl's emotional connections in a non-linear narrative. Immersed in the lonely subjectivity of its heroine, Petros Sevastikoglou's new film documents the ruggedness and the raw electricity of the journey everyone who has had to live with the legacy of "the foreigner" and "the outsider" since the day they were born has taken.

In a world like Electra's, the past is reconstructed, the present takes shape and the future is barely visible. Electra's journey defines her own country. In such a personal place, some languages are deliberately untranslated. According to the director, they form part of the soundtrack, alluding to the most universal language in the world: music.

    Forever - Work in Progress

Chronicling the story of two strangers in the city through the powers of observation and the merits of a fixed camera angle, Margarita Manda delivers a melancholy ode to silence and the passage of time.

7 Kinds of Wrath - Work in Progress

"7 Kinds of Wrath" is an existential, lyrical and deeply humanistic film, although firmly lodged in reality. The main character, Petros, is a desk-bound archaeologist, who attempts to open the door to diversity.
