Ambitious drummer Andrew wins a spot on Terence Fletcher's top-notch jazz ensemble, whose methods include merciless psychological manipulation. Bewitched by the promise of a great career, Andrew endures untold abuse, sweating and bleeding over his drum kit, all the while dangerously close to the edge.

Few careers have kicked off with such a loud bang and no other film will deliver the same adrenaline rush - at least not this year. Ch.L.
