Xenia

"Xenia" is a fairytale road movie for the 21st Century, a flamboyant adventure with a great sense of humor and a tendency towards magic realism, full of chills, thrills and Italian songs from the 60s, highlighting its irrepressible optimism in the face of adversity.

After their mother's death, siblings Danny and Odysseus, 16 and 18 years old respectively, travel across Greece to track down their father, who abandoned them years ago. Their goal is to obtain Greek citizenship and for Odysseus to take part in a singing contest in Thessaloniki.

On their way up north, they will come face-to-face with both friends and enemies, they will strive for a better life and come of age, without giving up their right to dream.

After the incendiary "Strella" (2009), Panos H. Koutras is back with his fourth feature, which recently premiered at the Un Certain Regard section of the 67th Cannes International Film Festival to rave reviews, securing theatrical distribution in Europe and the US.
