The Catechism Cataclysm

The catholic priest William, Father Billy for his friends, takes a compulsory leave of absence from his parish, when the bishop catches him in the act of telling lurid parables to his congregation and watching videos on YouTube. As he has no friends, he invites Robbie, his sister’s ex-high school boyfriend and a musical icon of his, for a canoe excursion – although he hasn’t seen him in years. Though Father Billy admires his old friend, it’s soon made clear that the latter is nothing but a loser, and their trip takes an unexpected turn. Words are superfluous for this river trip of surreal hell, made of “The Twilight Zone” material, even including two Japanese prostitutes named Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Flames, death metal accompaniment and humour bordering on paranoia, in the most midnight comedy of the year.
