We might have never discovered the Doors, Lou Reed, the Stooges, MC5 and the Ramones if it wasn't for Danny Fields, the mastermind behind Elektra Records. This documentary sheds light on the career and the personality of the insightful talent scout, proud homosexual and unrepentant party animal that turned music on its head in the 60s and 70s. Last March, in light of the premiere at SXSW, Rolling Stone magazine declared it the one film you couldn’t afford to miss. Since then, "Danny Says" hasn't stopped travelling from state to state, introducing audiences to this unsung punk rock hero. Hundreds of photographs, audio tapes, memorabilia and more than 250 hours of footage make up the intricate puzzle of Danny’s life, complemented by a fast-paced narration by the man himself, brimming with his signature aggressive honesty.
