Chiko
Things are finally looking up for Chiko, a small time drug dealer dreaming to hit it big in the rough, Turkish-dominated neighborhoods of Hamburg. He’s begun ascending the cocaine business ladder, gaining influence, got a hot new girlfriend and his future’s looking bright. However, a wrong move will turn his friends against him and Chiko will suddenly be faced with a series of tough decisions. Blending in trademark elements of gangster films with a slick soundtrack, Özgür Yildirim (backed by producer Fatih Akin) delivers an intelligent, fast-paced gangster drama in the best tradition of the genre. The film was featured in the Panorama section of the Berlin Film Festival.
