Painfully shy, hardly popular and hopelessly inefficient as a fast-food waitress, Lily may have the sigh ?Loser? flashing over her head, but that doesn’t stop her from dreaming of true love. Enter Jarrod, who happens to have the same mole over his mouth as she. Could he be the one? OK, the signs are not that promising; but what if their relationship takes off in an utterly limp fancy dress party, reaches its peak in what could be the least romantic first night of all time and leads to a ridiculous revenge trip? Lily sticks to her guns and mustering a disarming innocence plunges into a quest to find true love. Waititi constructs a charming love story between two oddballs in the fine genre of the quirky feel good comedy that brought us Little Miss Sunshine. The film was presented in this year’s Berlin Film Festival.
