Elephant Song

30/9/2015, 18:00, Ιντεάλ

A psychiatrist suddenly disappears and only one of his disturbed patients knows what happened, but he won't give it up so easily. Xavier Dolan, the enfant terrible of Canadian cinema, delivers an extraordinary performance that elevates this psychological drama of subtle tensions and unexpected plot twists.

A psychiatrist suddenly disappears in a snowy 60s America and only one of his disturbed patients seems to know what happened, but he's not willing to tell the clinic director the truth. Participants in a breathless cat & mouse game, the two men push their limits, exposing their vulnerability. Xavier Dolan, the enfant terrible of Canadian cinema with five features to his name (some of which he also stars in), delivers an extraordinary performance that elevates this psychological drama of subtle tensions and unexpected plot twists. Based on Charles Binamé's stage play of the same name - also responsible for penning the script - "Elephant Song", co-starring Catherine Keener and Carrie-Anne Moss, is an ingenious riddle striking a delicate balance between moral dilemma and exposing the awful truth.
