“Voices from the Greek Underground” is hard to put into words: it’s part history, part poetry, part painting and part cinema. Αn idiosyncratic movie pastiche made up of testimonies on the Greek underground scene of the 60s and 70s, the psychedelic influence on visual arts and film and the avant-garde fusion of beat and surrealism in poetry.
At the same time, it’s a film about a group of local artists, like Dimitris Poulikakos, Kostas Ferris and Panos Koutrouboussis, who sometimes preferred to stay under the radar. In short, it’s about everyone who left an indelible mark on Greek culture and subculture in an effort to change the world through the power of art.
