Gloria

This unexpected movie treat by Chilean director Sebastián Lelio tells the story of a middle-aged divorcée who decides to take her life in her hands and, at the age of 58, take advantage of all the second chances she gets in life.

With bittersweet combination of humor and melancholy, Gloria deals with the daily disappointments of middle age with optimism and a crooked smile on her way to a quiet personal catharsis. Lelio’s delightful heroine is interpreted by Paulina García, who was rightfully awarded the Silver Berlin Bear for best actress at the last Berlinale. L.K.
