What We Do in the Shadows

If you're under the impression you know everything there is to know about vampires, then think again! Because New Zealanders do it better, and they've even got their own vamp reality shows!

A TV crew decides to document the everyday life of a very idiosyncratic group of roommates. Especially since they happen to be age-old vampires, dealing with contemporary problems in their own special way.

How do you pay the rent when you're constantly broke? How are you supposed to get through face control in the coolest club in town when you can't see yourself in the mirror to get dolled up? Who's going to clean up the bloody room after dinner? And what happens when diametrically opposed personalities, sharing the same apartment, eventually clash? Only problem is, this bunch of dudes actually have supernatural powers and can turn into bats.

Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi deliver a blood-drenched, hilariously funny surprise with sophisticated fangs, miles away from cheap thrills and easy laughs, that got an enthusiastic response at Sundance. Τ.Τh.
