Les Cowboys

24/9/2015, 20:00, Odeon Όπερα 1

16-year-old Kelly disappears with her Arab boyfriend without a trace and converts to Islam, while her father and brother spend years looking for her all over the world. The Jacques Audiard's screenwriter sums up the global politics of the past 20 years in a contemporary western with constant plot twists.

Jacques Audiard's César-winning screenwriter of films like "Rust and Bone" and the Oscar-nominated "A Prophet" makes his directorial debut with this excellent mixture of road movie and western, which shocked and moved the audiences of the Cannes Film Festival. "Les Cowboys" addresses a poignant and timely sociopolitical issue through the story of a father who desperately searches his 16-year-old daughter, when she vanishes without any explanation. His odyssey, however, is filled with surprises and his road is a lot longer than what he had in mind.
