Oh Yeah, She Performs!

Austria’s music scene isn’t exactly world famous, but one look at ?Oh Yeah, She Performs!? is enough to convince you that something truly remarkable is happening in the shadow of the Alps.

Austria’s music scene isn’t exactly world famous, but one look at “Oh Yeah, She Performs!” is enough to convince you that something truly remarkable is happening in the shadow of the Alps. Mirjam Unger’s documentary follows Eva Jantschitsch, Vera Kropf, Clara Luzia and Teresa Rotschopf, four young women whose music has managed to prick up a lot of ears.

The camera captures their daily lives, their artistic process, their social sensibilities and the feminist dimension of their songs in vintage-like frames. Utopian art pursuits aside, the camera also documents their insecurities, the obstacles that stand in their way and the truly intimate moments of handful of women who can only feel fulfilled through creativity and self-expression.

How does a female musician quit her successful band to embark on a solo career, how does she return to the stage after a pregnancy, how does she deal with health issues and exhaustion? Discover the answers through one of the most authentic music documentaries you’ll ever hope to see, pulsing with addictive indie and electropop melodies from a barrage of talented musicians. K.Th.

"Art is not a mirror to reflect the world, but a hammer with which to shape it." The above quote by Vladimir Mayakovsky opens ?Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer? and by the time the end credits roll, it seems more timely than ever before.

The Stone Roses: Made of Stone

One of the most influential bands of the "Madchester"movement, the Stone Roses weren't just a hugely successful rock band, they defined the global music scene of the 80s and 90s.
