Ain't Them Bodies Saints

David Lowery’s ethereal new effort, winner of the Best Cinematography Award at Sundance, is a cross between the untainted beauty of "Badlands" and the violent honesty of "Bonnie and Clyde".

David Lowery’s ethereal new effort, winner of the Best Cinematography Award at Sundance, is a cross between the untainted beauty of "Badlands" and the violent honesty of "Bonnie and Clyde".

"Ain't Them Bodies Saints" explores the sensitivity hidden in the vast, forgotten expanses of rural Texas in a passionate love story between an escaped convict (Casey Affleck) and his young wife (Rooney Mara). A melancholic elegy on the fragile nature of love that Lowery directs as a variation on the classic crime film genre. Official selection at the Semaine de la Critique at the last Cannes Film Festival. Ph.V.

    The Great Beauty

    The Great Beauty

Operatic in dimensions with definite references to Federico Fellini's ?La Dolce Vita?, Paolo Sorrentino's new film soars across the big screen as an authentic audiovisual delirium, a whirlwind of people, places and events in a vivid kaleidoscope of human behavior.

    All is Lost

Can a film with a cast of one, very little dialogue and the endless blue sea as its sole location keep you nailed to your seat for one hour and 45 minutes? The answer is yes, if it's directed by J.C. Chandor.
