24 screens will be projecting excerpts from 1000 film trailers, which - far from describing reality or fantasy - will demonstrate out participation in both.

Some screens will be idle (idleness is the predecessor of movement),  while others will only transmit static (noise is the active ingredient in every communicative relationship).

Some screens will be idle (idleness is the predecessor of movement), others will only transmit static (noise is the active ingredient in every communicative relationship), while a single monitor will be showing John Cassavetes' "Opening Night" - the film that lend the festival it's name - in a loop. This is the only screen that will come with headphones.
