Sicilian Ghost Story

In a remote village of Sicily, the news of 13-year-old Giuseppe gone missing is causing lukewarm responses. Luna, a young student who’s in love with him, decides to break the omerta of the people around her and shed a light to the mysterious disappearance.

Directors Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza were inspired by the true story of a Mafia kidnapping that shocked Italy in the 90s. After the remarkable “Salvo”, the directors return with a dark fairytale spun artfully around the true facts of a horrific crime. Borrowing from mythology and using literary patterns of the cinema of the fantastic, they experiment successfully with various film genres and end up telling an atmospheric, extremely touching story about love. Directors in attendance
