From Cannes to Athens! "How to Have Sex" comes to the 29th Athens International Film Festival
Molly Manning Walker's much-discussed "How to Have Sex", the film that won the Grand Prix in the "Un Certain Regard" section of this year's Cannes Film Festival, will be screened at the 29th Athens International Film Festival in the presence of the director.
"How to Have Sex" by british newcomer Molly Manning Walker, which won the Best Film Award in the Cannes Film Festival's "Un Certain Regard" section, will have its nationwide premiere at the 29th Athens International Film Festival.
The film, shot in Malia, Crete in co-production with greek company Heretic, impressed the Cannes jury chaired by actor John C. Reilly. As he said at the awards ceremony, "This film brings us closer to understanding the human condition and explores the many seemingly tiny decisions we make every day that can have a profound impact on those around us. If we are to heal this world and be united, the journey begins with a film like this. Compelling, authentic, honest, insightful and true are just a few ways to describe this compelling film."
According to the opinion of CINEMA cinemagazine.gr:
"... "How to Have Sex" offers an insider's account of a youthful theme park, which at night surrenders to the immature debauchery of 16-year-olds traveling for the first time without their parents and the uncontrollable decibels as they sync up with the colorful club lights. In the morning the litter on the sides of the silent roads tell a different story."
"How to Have Sex" will soon be released in theaters by Cinobo.
The 29th Athens International Film Festival will take place from September 27th to October 9th, 2023.
