Josie is a lonely, harmless simpleton who’s spent most of his life working as a caretaker in a remote petrol station in rural Ireland. He is the quiet type: keeping to himself, taking care of animals and viewing the future with a relentless optimism, Josie leads a peaceful existence? until that fated summer when it all came undone. It only took one grumpy teenager, the awakening of desires he never knew he had and a horrible misunderstanding for Josie’s life to dangerously steer off course forcing the unlikely hero to come face-to-face with hitherto unknown situations and emotions. A moving film about a belated coming of age starring an outstanding Pat Shortt, Garage received the CICAE Art and Essai Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
