Tel Aviv, the present. A newly wed couple is set back by mishap. A young woman is followed by a little girl mysteriously risen out of the sea. A Fillipino maid is working for an elderly woman. Their lives have nothing in common but powers beyond their control will soon bring their separate paths to a crossroad forcing the heroes to come face-to-face with the unexpected. Writers Shira Geffen and Etgar Keret join forces in a bitter-sweet film about human frailty and frustration reminiscent of Miranda July’s Me and You and Everyone We Know. Made with a poetic flair and a good dose of tongue-in-cheek humor, Jellyfish received the Camera d’Or at Cannes Film Festival.
