Mary and Max are both misfits: Mary is an 8-year-old girl living in the suburbs of Melbourne, while Max is a severely obese 40-year-old New Yorker suffering from Aspergers Syndrome. The unlikely duo become pen pals and through their correspondence they begin to understand the world through each other’s eyes - and writings.
