Deadline extension for the submission of short-film proposals, until Thursday, July 2nd

Τhe Athens Film Lab , the parallel program which is being launched this year, within the framework of the 21st Athens International Film Festival – Opening Nights (16-27/09/2015), is extending the submission deadline for Thursday, July 2nd, aiming to give the opportunity to more young film-makers to submit their proposals.

Submit your script, having Athens as the subject, and participate in the Athens Film Lab!

The Athens Film Lab, the program for film ideas development, script processing and co-productions search including expertise seminars and workshops, gives the opportunity to Greek film-makers and producers to get in touch with professionals of international fame.

Within this framework, another action will be running as well: Athens – Europe, game for 2 players, during which seven (7) short-films will be produced, having Athens as their subject and which will be granted with the amount of 7.000€ each.

The young film-makers can submit their own short-film idea until July 2nd, forming their own game for 2 players, since the necessary participation prerequisite is the creation of a team of a director and a producer. In case the script has been written by a script-writer he/she too can participate in the team. From the ideas that will be submitted, 21 will be selected by the jury, which will take part in a series of script-writing, direction and production workshops during this summer.

The Athens Film Lab will be completed during the 21st Athens International Film Festival – Opening Nights (16 – 27/09). At the end of this procedure all participants will have the opportunity to present their projects to representatives of the European film industry and attend expertise workshops in script-writing, direction and production.

Finally, 7 scripts will be selected, and their production procedure will start immediately, in Greece.

Script Evaluation Jury

The evaluation of the scripts will be conducted by a five-member jury constituted by: Yiorgos Gkikapeppas (Director), Yiannis Daskalothanasis (Photography Director), Iliana Zakopoulou (Greek Film Center), Yioula Boudali (Scriptwriter), and Yiorgo Tsourgianni (Producer).

If there are any further questions concerning the submission procedure, please communicate via e-mail to athensfilmlab@aiff.gr. No clarifications will be provided via telephone.
