Tornes' last film is also considered to be the most autobiographical in his entire career, as it wistfully questions the true meaning of unconventional creativity.
Publisher Lucas only prints poetry books, selling embalmed birds on the side to make ends meet. He is surrounded by his romantic assistant, Marios, and simple yet determined Nina, while their social circle includes poets, ornithologists and taxidermists, who walk the fine line between reality and dream. By his own admission, this is Tornes' most conventional work, at least as far as the narrative structure is concerned.
Still, as with any of his films, nothing is clearly defined or strictly limited to one thing. In this case, the director uses easily identifiable contemporary imagery as his jumping off point, but his magic wand soon transforms his swan song into a flight of fancy.
Tornes' last film is also considered to be the most autobiographical in his entire career, as it wistfully questions the true meaning of unconventional creativity.
It's worth mentioning that the lead role is held by none other than Stavros Tsiolis, who later directed some of the most intimate and magnificent comedies in the history of Greek cinema K.S.
