30th Athens International Film Festival: Call for submissions of Greek short films

The 30th Athens International Film Festival will take place from October 2nd to 13th, 2024.

Submission Deadline: Sunday, July 14, 2024

The Athens International Film Festival, sponsored by Nova, celebrates 30 years of cinematic magic, glamour, discoveries and uninterrupted love for cinema and its people. From the filmmakers, actors, producers and the entirety of professionals of the field, to everyone in the festival who contributed passionately throughout the years and our devoted and emotionally rejuvenating audience, our Festival keeps growing and spreading the uniqueness of the big screen in Greece and abroad. Our common goal remains during all those years: the unwavering passion for great cinema.

The Athens International Film Festival has actively supported Greek cinema since its inception, with a series of initiatives and actions that keep this enthusiastic interest, protection, and genuine love alive and deepening each year.

From the highly anticipated premieres of Greek films introduced to the festival audience and then traveling across Greece and abroad, to workshops or masterclasses for the development and production of films in collaboration with significant national and European institutions, and the hosting of distinguished and honored guests from the cinematic community, the Athens International Film Festival continues to highlight, promote, and shine a light on the work of both established and emerging creators from our country.

One of the most unique and strong ties between the Athens International Film Festival and Greek cinema remains the beloved Competitive Section of Greek Short Stories. For over 12 years, this section has been carefully helping new Greek short films find their way to the big screen and connect with their audience.
