JAMES BIDGOOD (1933-2022)
American photographer, film director and performance artist. He was born in Wisconsin and moved to New York in 1951, where he studied design. He is regarded as a pioneer of male gay iconography, drawing on spectacular colour schemes and set design influences from Broadway and the French cabaret. He is considered an inspiration for a wide array of contemporary artists.
