Nothing will ever surpass the supremacy of the "Köln Concert" as the most successful solo album in the history of jazz and its place as one of the greatest recordings of the 20th century. Few, however, remember that the legendary concert given by pianist Keith Jarrett in Cologne in January 1975, which birthed this monumental album, nearly didn't take place. The true story of what happened and what preceded that eventful evening is recounted in this spirited and energetic film. It does so bursting with love for music, exploring how the 18-year-old (!) Vera Brandes passionately and dedicatedly managed to organize the iconic concert, conducting her own revolution against her wealthy and conservative family, her youthful inexperience, and the numerous adversities that almost completely derailed one of the immeasurable cultural events of the last century. Andreas Kyrkos

IDO FLUK
Israeli director and screenwriter, based in New York. He studied at the renowned Tisch School of the Arts in the same city. The present work premiered at the Berlinale and has four nominations at the German Academy Awards.
