A masked butcher with a hook, a group of friends in an isolated house in the woods. Guess what will happen. If we took all slasher movies and stripped them down to the essentials, giving the audience the bloodthirsty thrills they expect, the result would look like this movie. Only here, paradoxically, lurks a cunning exercise in the mechanisms of horror cinema that asks the audience to admit its bloodthirst and then indulge in it guiltlessly. An unexpected success (a sequel already on the way) filled with rarely seen jaw-dropping moments of carnage, this one is not for the sensitive. It is, however, for those who will recognize behind the spectacular horror a clever study of their instincts.

Writer, director, and prosthetics effects artist from Canada. His journey into filmmaking was influenced by a steady diet of constant video rentals and incredibly curated and unedited late-night movies. His short films and music videos have screened internationally. Feature film debut.
