INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
THE GOLDEN ATHENA AWARD
Acclaimed artists and film professionals are selected every year as members of the Festival's International Jury. The Golden Athena Award for Best Film is bestowed upon the most technically and aesthetically accomplished film of the International Competition Section and is accompanied by a prize of 3,000 euros. The prize-statuette designed by designer Giorgos Sepetzoglou, is a courtesy sponsorship of ZOLOTAS jewelers.
The Jury also presents the following awards:

The Festival's audience votes for its favourite film among the films in the International Competition Section and the Opening NIghts section.
STRANGER THAN FICTION / IN COMPETITION
GOLDEN ATHENA AWARD for BEST DOCUMENTARY
An International Jury composed by professionals who specialize in documentaries selects the film to be awarded with the Best Documentary Golden Athena. The statuette-prize is accompanied by a prize of 3,000 euros, designed by designer Giorgos Sepetzoglou and is a courtesy sponsorship of ZOLOTAS jewelers.
GREEK SHORT STORIES / COMPETITION
The selected films will be screened during the Festival and the Jury will award the following prizes:
- Golden Athena Award for Best Film
Accompanied by a € 2,000 cash prize, sponsored by the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center.
- Silver Athena Special Jury Award
Accompanied by a € 1,000 cash prize, sponsored by the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center.
- Best Director Award
Accompanied by a € 1,000 cash prize, sponsored by the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center as well as a 5-year free Premium Member Subscription on the Crew United platform.
- Best Screenplay Award
Accompanied by a € 1,000 cash prize, sponsored by the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center.
- Male and Female Actor Awards
- Onassis Film Award
Accompanied by a € 5,000 cash prize, sponsored by ONASSIS CULTURE.) Α development award that is offered as a reward for a specific film of the Greek Short Stories - In Competition section, but is considered a financial support for the director’s next project (of their choice).
- GSC AWARD for Best Cinematography
Kindly supported by the Greek Filmmakers Association.The award comes with three gifts, generously provided by GSC sponsors Bright Vision, MovieCrane, and AlbaPV, with a total value of €4,700.
