La Zona

Life in the luxurious secluded residential complex of the Zone is suddenly turned upside-down after a break-in that results in murder. When the shocked residents decide not to alert the authorities but to take matters into their own hands, paranoia ensues. A young man decides to side with the hiding burglar and help him escape at all costs. Rodrigo Plà’s movie is at once a tight, suspenseful thriller and a poignant comment on the consequences of social injustice and the growing hatred of the other. Viewed on that level, La Zona is a foreshadowing of things to come, and they won’t be pretty.
