Water Lillies - Naissance des Pieuvres

It’s summertime in the Parisian suburbs. Safe in a secluded environment away from adults, middle class teens enjoy an idle summer and test the waters of their sexuality. 26-year-old director Celine Sciamma revisits a not-so-distant past to portray three 15-year-old girls’ journey of physical and sexual self-discovery. Anne, the impulsive ugly duckling, the ravishing and misunderstood Floriane and the shy and restless Marie will find their bodies changing and their relationships tested; after all, coming of age never came with an instruction manual. The film was presented in the UN Certain Ragrd section at Cannes Film Festival.
