Last year, during the long Icelandic summer Sigur Rós gave a series of free-entry gigs in their home country ? recorded for posterity here, in Heima. But this is just a description; seeing Sigur Rós playing live near ancient volcanoes with frozen lava or on top of abandoned trawler factories, their otherworldly music merging organically with the Icelandic landscape, is an experience that defies words. Bringing together stunning footage of their tour with rare Sigur Rós interviews, Heima offers an inside view of one of the world’s most introverted ?and idiosyncratic- bands, whose unique music remains firmly rooted in the traditions and spirit of their home country. No wonder Heima means ‘at home’.
