Death at a Funeral

A dignified funeral somewhere in the English countryside goes extremely wrong when the family and friends of the deceased arrive each with his or her own anxieties and hidden agendas. The rivalry between two brothers, a couple striving to make a good impression and failing miserably and an uninvited guest threatening to reveal an earth-shuttering secret are the main ingredients in a delirious black family comedy that puts the F U in funeral. Like Vinterberg’s Festen turned upside down, Death at a Funeral is sheer British bizarreness at its best. The film was presented in the Locarno Film Festival.
