Entre Les Murs

François, a young French teacher at a multinational school in one of the rougher suburbs of Paris, tries to engage his class’s interest in school work by trying out a number of innovative teaching methods. Unfortunately, his students aren’t as appreciative of his efforts as he expected. Based on François Begaudeau’s (who also stars in the film) eponymous book, Time Out director Laurent Cantet turns his attention to a small ?and often considered problematic- social nucleus, that of the immigrant school society to explore his favourite issue of social inequality.
