What do Orson Welles, Fritz Lang, Ingmar Bergman, Jacques Tati, Alfred Hitchcock and Jean Renoir have in common? Well, nothing much, except that they were all children once. Starting off from this simple premise, six contemporary filmmakers, direct six segments on the childhoods and early experiences of six film masters: guilt and repression, alienation, the burning need to fit in and early sexual awakenings come together in six fairy tale like narratives where the main characters don’t necessarily live happily ever after. Isild Le Besco contributed the segment on Orson Welles.
