The Stranger In Me
Recently married, Rebecca and Julian are overwhelmed with joy when they find out they’re going to have a child. But when Rebecca gives birth to a healthy baby boy, she is horrified to discover that she is unable to emote with her son. Striving in vain to find reassurance in daily routines, Rebecca is submersed deeper and deeper into her feelings of despair and begins to fear she is a threat to her own child’s safety. Award-winning director Emily Atef delivers a bold, striking exploration of a theme rarely touched on by filmmakers, that of post-partum depression.
