Une Journee
How long does it take for a family to come apart? According to Jacob Berger, it takes less than 24 hours. Set in a course of one day, Berger observes his three dramatis personae, Serge, the philandering, sex-addict husband, Pietra, the insecure wife and Vlad, the 8-year-old son, who intuitively but not cognitively understands the crisis is his parents’ relationship, run through the motions of their daily activities until that fateful accident that steers their lives off course. Under the cloudy skies of Geneva, Berger records the slow self-destruction of a family in a bitter drama that has no easy answers to give.
