Vicky and Cristina decide to spend their summer under the hot Spanish sun for very different reasons: the somber and serious Vicky is preparing a thesis and waiting to get married, while the carefree party girl Christina is merely looking for some summer fun. Neither, however, will manage to resist the charms of Juan Antonio, a masculine painter with an obvious problem of getting over his ex-wife.
