It is 1962, the height of the Cold War, and Alfred Hitchcock is on the set of ?The Birds?, when he is asked to take a phone call. This bizarre episode serves as a springboard for an exploration of institutionalized fear ? as prevalent in Hitchcock’s time as in our own.
