The year is 1969. Four entrepreneurs looking to start up a new music festival are suddenly left without a venue, when Orange Country, New York revokes their permit. Enter Elliot Tiber, an interior decorator from Greenwich Village, who already happens to hold a festival permit and sees this as a great opportunity to help his parent’s financially struggling motel in Bethel near Woodstock. The festival relocates to Woodstock and the rest is history. Adventurous as always, Ang Lee explores new territory in a nostalgic and incredibly fun tale of the Festival’s beginnings, based on the eponymous book by Elliot Tiber.
