Sweden, the present. Sebbe and his mother live in a Göteborg suburb below the poverty line. Subjected to daily mockery by his peers, Sebbe finds refuge in the two things he loves the most, his craft -that involves making elegant works of art out of common rubbish- and his mother, whom he loves pathologically, despite her frequent reminders that he was an unwanted baby. However, the safe cocoon he has wrapped himself in keep shrinking and when it finally collapses, Sebbe will become exposed to true loneliness. Babak Najafi combines sensibility and harsh realism in a poignant study of the despair and anguish of growing up. Best Debut Film at Berlin.
