THE RUNAWAYS

Underage girls, loud guitarrs, hardcore fans, abuses and fights, the "Runaways" story has all the rock' n' roll ingredients. For sure Joan Jett, Cheri Currie and Lita Ford's was not the most famous or influential in L.A. music scene back in the 70's but was undoubtly the most interesting. Going against the macho rock stereotypes, "Runaways" proved that women can actually rock with passion and paved the way for a whole generation of women oriented bands. Not bad for a group that was initially dealt as a manufactured product of the music business and ended up winning a place in rock history. Video artist Floria Sigismonti captures the power, the energy, the music,the relationships, the backstage with a compelling storytelling. Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning deserve an encore for their performances.
