Sound It Out
In the last five years, an independent record shop closes its doors every three days in the United Kingdom. “Sound it out” is the documentary for the shop of the same name, the only record shop that survives to this day in the small country town of Teesside in England. A cultural heaven for the citizens of one of the most depraved areas of Britain, the shop persists despite the times and carries on thanks to the local society that keeps it alive by organizing concerts and all kinds of events. Directed by Jeanie Finlay, who grew up next to the shop, this documentary version of northern-accented “High Fidelity”, “Sound It Out” comes to show that dedication can keep the indie spirit alive.
