Jitters
Returning from a summer camp in Manchester, Gabriel discovers that nothing has changed in his small town in Iceland. He spends time with his friends, while at the same time helping them to balance their unstable lives in a world defined by adults. This time, however, the young boy will himself need the attention of his friends, as his return is paired with a secret he’s having difficulty sharing. In his debut, Baldvin Zophonίasson, weaves a filled with youthful energy ode to the hysteria surrounding the teenage years, the anguish of searching for one’s sexual identity and of becoming independent from the pressures of the family environment. “Jitters” is being touted as the Icelandic film version of “Skins” and constitutes an honest and moving introspection in the often painful journey called adolescence.
