Milocrorze: A Love Story
In “Milocrorze” we follow three different stories which, though seemingly unrelated at first, find themselves tangled under a colourful, sparkling pop wrapper. A 7-year-old with orange hair lives in a fantasy world, where he falls in love with an attractive young woman. A man working at a hotline as a relationship consultant insults the clients calling for his opinion. An one-eyed samurai arrives at a luxurious brothel and casino to look for his lost wife, kidnapped some years ago. Wildly hilarious, insidiously misanthropic, but essentially a love story, “Milorcroze: A Love Story” is a film which dares to tightrope between genres and ultimately finds the balance. A flashy explosion of creativity and style from Japan, with influences from the country’s culture, the American action films, music videos and Kurosawa, by way of the schizoid Yoshimasa Ishibashi.
